• Heather Giannini, MD MS

    Dr. Heather Giannini is a physician specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center. Additionally, she is a translational researcher in biomedical informatics, machine learning technologies and molecular -omics of critical illness. She has expertise in developmental genetics, gene manipulation, and predictive analytics (e.g. sepsis prediction). She has worked with various teams in clinical trial design, scaled implementation, stakeholder engagement, and pipelines for novel therapeutics. Heather has formal training in Quality Improvement techniques, strategy, and implementation science through LEED Six Sigma.

    Heather’s work has been published in leading journals, including Nature Medicine, JCI, and Science Translational Medicine, with commentaries featured by the New York Times, The Atlantic and ScienceDaily.

  • Peter Kahn, MD MPH

    Dr. Peter Kahn has worked with companies across various stages of their lifecycle.  As a successful clinician and entrepreneur at Yale, Peter is keenly aware and has personally encountered many of the challenges biotech companies face including product design, target acquisition, raising capital, designing/conducting clinical trials, building/leading a sales force, developing an internet presence, and team building.  With the benefit of these experiences, Dr. Kahn has served a diverse set of companies ranging from publicly traded pharmaceutical companies to pre-seed startup companies in roles ranging from consultant to Chief Medical Officer.

  • Jason H Maley, MD MS

    Dr. Jason Maley is a physician, engineer, and healthcare delivery science researcher. He holds faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and was previously appointed at the University of Pennsylvania. Jason practices internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. His background training includes biomedical engineering, epidemiology, implementation science, and healthcare delivery science, in addition to clinical medicine. Jason’s clinical, research, and consulting work is broadly dedicated to improve the lives of patients and families during acute illness and post-acute recovery.

    Jason has held leadership positions at Penn Medicine and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). He currently directs a clinical and research program for patients with severe respiratory diseases, built upon value-based healthcare principles, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He is also Director of Quality and Innovation in the Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine division at BIDMC and a core faculty in the Center for Healthcare Delivery Science.

    His work and commentary have been featured in media including NBC news, CBS news, the Boston Globe, Medscape, ScienceDaily, and USA Today. He lives outside of Boston with his wife, Bridget, and daughter, Mirabelle. He spends his free time with family, as well as his hobbies of woodworking, cooking, biking, and skiing.

  • Christopher Worsham, MD MPH

    Dr. Christopher Worsham is a physician specializing in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School where he performs health services research. He has worked with large and small companies, universities, and professional organizations, providing clinical expertise and assisting with data analysis, epidemiological and biostatistical research, applied artificial intelligence, behavioral economics, patient safety and health care improvement, medical education, and litigation.

    His research, which focuses on clinical care and outcomes, physician behavior, health care utilization, and natural experiments in healthcare, has been published in journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, The British Medical Journal, and has been covered by the media including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and CNN.

    He is the co-author of Random Acts of Medicine: The Hidden Forces That Sway Doctors, Impact Patients, and Shape our Health.
